T-pave chemical solution

T-Pave International offers a wide range of TephamineTM bitumen emulsifiers to suit the local project requirements with local raw materials.

Selecting the appropriate emulsifier to formulate a suitable bitumen emulsion for a specific application requires a combination of chemical knowledge and application knowhow. In addition, compatibility testing is needed based on the local raw materials such as aggregate, cement, water, additives, etc. Our technical team will provide these supports thoroughly upon completing feasibility studies before recommending any products. Our R&D team also has the ability of tailor-making a recipe or using a dual-emulsifier system to meet the best application requirement.

The shelf- life of the road depends very much on the adhesion between the aggregate and the bitumen. If water is present at the interface between the bitumen and aggregate, it will reduce the adhesiveness and cause stripping of the bitumen from the aggregate surface. This type of water damage will cause a series of symptoms on the road pavement such as: rutting, shoving, raveling, loss of chipping (for surface dressing), pothole, etc and eventually lead to the failure of the road structure.

TephabondTM Bitumen Anti-stripping agent is a type of cationic surfactant which acts as a bridge between the bitumen and aggregate surface to resist the displacement effect of water. T-Pave International offers both passive anti-stripping agent for hot mix and active anti-stripping agent for soft binder.

TephamineTM Bitumen Emulsifier

TephamineTM E85
Emulsifier for Cationic Slow Setting Bitumen Emulsions

Application

TephamineTM E85 Emulsifier for cationic slow-set bitumen emulsions such as prime coat, dense grade cold mix and cold recycling, grave emulsion mixes. It is also can be adopted for slurry seal and application when adequate mix time is required for those most difficult aggregate in the high temperature. TephamineTM E85 Emulsifier can provide long workability for the cold recycling application when certain period of stockpile is required.

TephamineTM E85 is slightly dispersible in water. Emulsifier solutions can be prepared by addition of hydrochloric acid to the dispersed emulsifier. TephamineTM E85 also acts as breaking retarder when extra mix time is required.

TephamineTM C103
Emulsifier for Cationic Slow Setting Bitumen Emulsions

Application

TephamineTM C103 Emulsifier for cationic slow-set bitumen emulsions for spray seal applications such as prime coat and tack coat. TephamineTM C103 can also be used together with other emulsifiers, such as TephamineTM C408, to enhance mixing stability when used in medium setting emulsions or coarse aggregate mixes or for penetration macadam.
TephamineTM C103 is slightly dispersible in water. TephamineTM C103 need not be neutralized if used alone, but if a lower pH is required it is recommended to use hydrochloric acid. Emulsifier solutions can be prepared by addition of hydrochloric acid to the dispersed emulsifier.

TephamineTM C408
Emulsifier for Cationic Medium Setting Bitumen Emulsions

Application

TephamineTM C408 Emulsifier for cationic medium-set bitumen emulsions. Cold Mixes based on emulsions containing TephamineTM C408 show good water resistance.
TephamineTM C408 gives a low viscosity emulsion even with bitumen that tends to build high viscosity emulsions. For the best performance of TephamineTM C408 it is recommended that calcium chloride is included in the emulsion formulation at a level of 0.05-0.15%.
TephamineTM C408 is dissolved in water by neutralization with hydrochloric acid. A suitable way to manufacture water-phase solutions is to first fill a container with the desired amount of water, heated to 60-70ºC. Add hydrochloric acid corresponding to approx. 50% of the experience dosage (from last production), then add the TephamineTM C408 slowly under stirring to give a uniform dispersion. Add the rest of the acid to give the desired PH.

TephamineTM A05
Emulsifier for Anionic Bitumen Emulsions

Application

TephamineTM A05 Emulsifier for anionic bitumen emulsions for spray seal applications such as prime coat and tack coat and dust control. It is also widely adopted for waterproofing application. TephamineTM A05 offers the advantages of excellent emulsion quality with economy dosage level (when produce anionic rapid setting emulsion). TephamineTM A05 are reactive with Ca+ and Mg+ and it is recommended to avoid use water with high Ca+ and Mg+ content to prepare the water phase.

TephamineTM A05 is slightly dispersible in water. Emulsifier solutions can be prepared by addition of Sodium hydroxide to the dispersed emulsifier.
