In mid of November a quick-setting of slurry seal trial was successfully launched in Tangerang city of Jakarta, Indonesia. More than 50 participants including members of JAVA Road Bureau of Indonesia, IRE of Indonesia Public Work, Local media, emulsion suppliers and road contractors witnessed the demonstration.

With the increasing attention of “Road Preservation” concept in Indonesia, This slurry seal road trial jointly performed by T-Pave International Pte Ltd (www.t-pave.com), PT Jaya Trade and PT CITA BAJA was an answer this trend. The Mix-Design of this Slurry Seal trial was prepared by T-Pave International Pte Ltd. Tephamine bitumen emulsifier was adopted to formulate the CQS type of bitumen emulsion in order to make sure the slurry seal trial can be open the traffic within one hour.

Jointly-Organized by T-Pave International PTE LTD and IRE of Indonesia Public Work, sponsored by Bergkamp Inc USA, (www.bergkampinc.com), DenimoTECH A/S Denmark,(www.denimotech.com), T-Pave International Pte Ltd Singapore,(www.t-pave.com), The International Bitumen Emulsion Technical Seminar was successfully held on October 1st , 2013 in Bandung, Indonesia.

The Seminar which is entitled “Bitumen Emulsion for Road Preservation” is an answer to the increasing attention of the bitumen emulsion application in Indonesia especially with the large numbers of new-built roads are due for maintenance. Micro-surfacing as a preventive and corrective surface treatment was one of the key topics during the seminar.

There were around 100 participants from Indonesia bitumen industry including directorates General of Highway, government officers, institute researchers, bitumen emulsion suppliers, road owners, and contractors. Delegations from other Asian countries such as Thailand, Vietnam also joined the seminar. The Director General of Research and Development of Indonesia--Mr.Graitha Sutadi gave a welcome speech for the seminar. Dr. Djoko Widajat, Dr. Nyoman Suaryana, Professor Sjahdanulirwan, Mr. Madi Hermadi from IRE present the speech—“Bitumen Emulsion for Road Preservation”; Mr. Bill Cooper (VP of Bergkamp Inc USA) did the speech of “Micro-surfacing Overview and Paver Introduction”. Mr. Anders Marschall Jensen (CEO of DenimoTech A/S Denmark) present the speech of “Production of Bitumen Emulsion--Bitumen Emulsion Plant and PMB Plant”.

In April 2012, “Moving to Bitumen emulsion” technical seminar was held successfully in Bangkok, Thailand.

The road industry developing today has gradually switched its focus to maintenance application. Bitumen emulsion application as the prime maintenance solution had been more and more adopted within the Southeast Asia region especially in the recent years.

As an answer to this trend, the seminar was an invitation by Thailand’s road industry and jointly held by T-pave international Pte Ltd; DenimoTech A/S (www.denimotech.com) and Thai oil giant company, PTT (www.pttplc.com). The seminar invited many of Thailand’s elites in the bitumen industry, which include the Highway Bureau of Thailand, Chulalongkorn University and many other experts and professors. The seminar gave the participants the opportunity to engage in a heated discussion regarding the Bitumen emulsion technology development in Southeast Asia.  The Managing Director of T-Pave International (Michael Tan) presented an important speech of “Moving to Bitumen Emulsion” which highlighted the trend of using Bitumen Emulsion in the road maintenance industry.

The project to implement GHS at T-Pave International was started in Feburary of 2012 in order to comply with the new Global Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling, T-Pave decided to update all the MSDS of Tephamine and Tephabond series products and adopted the newly designed GHS compliant drum label.

Michael Tan, the managing director of T-Pave had previously worked with DenimoTech while being employed at Akzo Nobel, where he was involved in the commissioning of 5 emulsion plants in Asia before the separation of Denimotech and Akzo Nobel.

Back in 2003, with much effort from Michael, DenimoTech was awarded the largest bitumen emulsion plant bidding in Asia, with one unit of 20T/H batch plant and 2 units of research plant, with the client being Wuhan Guchuang Co China. 

With DenimoTech's decades of experience in the industry and it's reputation, combined with the massive application knowledge and hands-on experience of T-Pave International, this collaboration will surely be a win-win deal for both companies.
